Emergency Preparedness: Monthly Fire Drill & Evacuation

Safety and preparedness are a priority at Olympic Primary Center!

As part of Los Angeles Unified School District emergency preparedness procedures, OPC students and staff participate in regularly scheduled fire drills and evacuation practice throughout the school year.

During a fire drill, students practice how to safely, quickly, and calmly evacuate their classrooms, follow their teacher along the designated evacuation route, and report to their assigned Emergency Assembly Area. Teachers and staff also practice procedures for accounting for all students and ensuring everyone is safely assembled.

Regular practice helps our students become familiar with emergency procedures so they know what to do and where to go should an actual emergency occur.

These drills are an important part of maintaining a safe, prepared, and resilient school community.

Please remember: When you hear that OPC conducted a fire drill, it is a planned emergency preparedness exercise—not an actual emergency.
